Michelle Pietrafitta - Drumming up the music business
Michelle Pietrafitta is an artist-entrepreneur in the music industry performing throughout the U.S. as the drummer for independent band Banshee Tree.
She is a tour designer, she books all the tours and performances for Banshee Tree.
On the music side, she is a live performance artist, a studio drummer and educator. But on the business side, she deigns tour routes, pitches to venues, negotiates contracts and builds relationships with venues and talent buyers.
Michelle has booked and performed major festivals including Arise Music Festival, Sonic Bloom and NorthWest String Summit; and with major acts such as Keller Williams, Victor Wooten, the Infamous Stringdusters and Devotchka.
Michelle is passionate about sharing her knowledge and encouraging artists to take their career into their own hands. She believes that each person has a unique voice to bring to the table and implores artists to dig deep to uncover that.
She stands for breaking the traditional lenses through which we are taught to see gender roles.
